Taking Figures to Scale: Large Figurative Works on Paper
Past exhibition
Overview
"Freeman's incredible volume of work is most impressive when considering the large figurative pieces on canvas."
Thousands of artworks were produced by Freeman Butts. That he produced the quantity of large figurative works on top of such a large quantity of work makes it even more impressive. A sense of calm or casualness starts to emerge in these artworks that is greatly enhanced by their size.
