The Erotic Pose: Intimate Postures for Valentines Day

The sometimes erotic nature of painting figurative artworks seems to make more sense on Valentines Day.  However for Freeman this was simply part of the job, capturing a yoga move or a moment of repose, a harmony in the arrangement of parts and colors that is restful to the eye.  

Contemplating postures without cover reveals a direct human structure, free of the depictions of fabric we would otherwise face, and a requirement to understand for any figurative painter.  As a result, this collection is a group of artworks with some of the more provocative poses to come out of the Freeman Butts Estate..
